EARTH | SPIRIT | FIRE is more than a ceramics workshop ~ it's a sacred space to reconnect with yourself, your creativity and your ancestral roots through the grounding practice of hand-building with clay and the transformative power of fire.
In this week long retreat, we’ll explore the ancient art of Raku and low-fired ceramics, alongside gentle ancestral healing rituals and moments of deep connection. You’ll leave not only with beautiful hand-formed vessels and sacred items for your altar, but also with a renewed sense of clarity, calm and connection to those who came before you.

🌿 Ceramics Masterclass
Learn ancient hand-building and alternative Raku firing techniques. No previous experience necessary, just curiosity and an open heart.
🔥 Ceremonial Practice & Ancestral Rituals
Each session will be gently held with grounding meditations, elemental rituals and guided space to connect with your lineage through the wisdom of the land and the clay.

Our retreat will centre around the Ancestral Altar and our communal creative practice, which we will lovingly tend to together, allowing you to feel deeply connected to the process.
There will also be plenty of time for rest, reflection and integration. You’re welcome to explore the beautiful local landscape or simply nestle into a chair by the fire with a good book.
The sacred space is held by original artworks inspired by elements of my African and Celtic ancestry - creating a powerful, nurturing environment for your personal and ancestral journey.

We will be using therapeutic art techniques including clay & natural materials, visual journaling and mixed media.
A special aspect of the retreat is the deep connection with your wise and well ancestors and the elemental beings therough the use of natural materilas and the alchemical process of Raku and pit firings.
Each retreat participant will receive their own sacred items especially made for you by Catherine and everyone will leave with their own sacred items that they have created themselves from start to finish. Beautiful items for your altar that will help you to keep the connection with your wise and loving ancestors once you are back home.
Everyone will also receive a 1-1 Ancestral healing Session with Catherine prior to the retreat which will help you to connect with your Ancestral Guide and prepare you for the EARTH|SPIRIT|FIRE Retreat.

Rosemerryn Wood is a magical place close to Merry Maidens Stone Circle and a 10 minute drive from Penzance. Lifts from Penzance train station are available on request.
We will have the full use of the beautiful cosy Cornish Rosemerryn House, nestled in 7 acres of magical woodland, within minutes of Merry Maidens Stone Circle, the wild Cornish coast and main transport links.
Rosemerryn is a former artist’s residence built at the turn of the twentieth century and is full of character. We have full use of the house with beautiful conservatory and private garden with fire pit. There is also our own private studio space.
On booking you will have a choice of rooms. Please read the descriptions carefully.
The Location
West Cornwall is a magical place scattered with sacred sites such as Stone Circles, Sacred Wells and Fogous. A beautiful and wild corner of England close to stunning cliff top walks, hidden coves and sandy beaches with turquoise seas.

Hello, I’m Catherine Lucktaylor, a British/Ghanaian ceramic artist, ritualist and Ancestral Healing Practitioner. My work weaves together creativity, spirituality and ritual, drawing inspiration from my African heritage and the wild, elemental beauty of Cornwall.
Through my art and healing practice, I create sacred spaces where transformation can unfold, places where you can reconnect with your roots, honour your ancestors and awaken your creative spirit. My retreats bring together the tactile, grounding nature of clay with the sacred work of ancestral connection and ceremony.
I’ve spent many years walking this path of creativity and ancestral healing, guided by my own lineage, which spans Ghana, England, Wales, Germany and Holland. Living here on the sacred lands of Kernow, surrounded by ancient standing stones, stone circles and holy wells, I feel deeply connected to the ancestral presence that resides in the land itself.
Through my work, I invite others to return home to themselves, to find belonging through the elements, through creativity and through the wisdom of those who came before.
