Once you have glazed your pots they will be placed in the outdoor Raku kiln. Whilst the pots are firing in the kiln, which can take about 45 minutes, you will enjoy a traditional Cornish Cream Tea.
Next comes the exciting process of watching Catherine remove your red hot pots from the kiln and plunging them in sawdust. The hot pots will set the sawdust alight, before they are covered and left to smoke for 10 minutes.
Once the pots are removed from the sawdust they are plunged into cold water and will be ready for you to clean to reveal the beautiful crackle Raku surface. You will then have a gorgeous Raku pot to take home as a reminder of a wonderful Cornish Raku Experience.
What a story to tell about your visit to Cornwall!
